Collection: Boro Series

BORO the Japanese term that typically refers to cotton, linen and hemp materials, mostly hand-woven by peasant farmers that have been stitched or rewoven together to create an often many-layered material used for warm practical clothing.

In this range founder and artisan Melise Smith creates this bespoke range of textiles from European Flax and Hemp linens that have been hand dyed and stonewashed with volcanic rocks. Methods such as Boro and Sashiko are used with natural fibres imported from Japan, Nepal and Italy.
