Luxe Linen Coverlet by Melìse Smith

 A coverlet made differently.

I wanted to create a coverlet that felt natural in every sense — from the linen itself to what sits inside it.

When I began looking for linen coverlets filled with natural cotton rather than synthetic wadding, I found very few and none with functionality in mind from a size perspective. So I decided to create my own. Generous proportions enough to fall beautifully over the bed, while giving you the freedom to fold, layer and style it in different ways. As well as a new sizing addition Traverse, a bed end covering designed for those in between seasons. 

Made from linen and filled with pure cotton wadding, these coverlets have a beautiful natural weight, softness and loft. The cotton filling gives the piece a more tactile, breathable quality, while allowing the linen to retain its relaxed character.

Across the surface, I've worked individual nots in an organic irregular rhythm. each knot is slightly different, giving the coverlet its own character and creating a surface that feels considered, tactile and quietly imperfect.

Designed as a substantial layer for the bed, it can be used fully spread, casually folded at the foot or layers with other textiles to change the look of the room.

Le Grand — 270 x 290cm - sized to fall generously over the sides of the bed or style the European way up over the pillows

Le Carré — 250 x 250cm - perfect for low set beds or bed frames that require bedding to be tucked

Traverse — 120 x 180cm - a new addition for the end of the bed perfect for in between seasons, singles or a lounge protector if you have dogs that love to cuddle with you. 

The first release is intentionally small, with just three made in each size.
